There are four modules in the Introduction to the Revised Mathematics TEKS professional development series. Each module is approximately three hours. Each module gives you the opportunity to focus on the TEKS for one of the following high school mathematics courses: Algebra I, Geometry, or Algebra II.

This module was developed prior to the implementation of the revised TEKS. The emphasis of the module should be on the student learning gaps rather than the differences between the revised TEKS and the previous version of the math TEKS.

This is the third of four modules to introduce the revised Mathematics TEKS. The four modules are

This module reflects focused discussions of mathematics topics within each course.

Quick Check

If you have already completed other modules in this series, revisit what you have learned by reviewing the questions below.

What does CCRS stand for?
What is an amplified instructional task?
An amplified instructional task uses connections to take an existing instructional task and amplify it to provide students with multiple connections to the mathematics. The goal in amplifying instructional tasks is not to necessarily "turn the volume all the way up," but rather to turn it up "one or two levels."
What does ELPS stand for?
What is the Project Share Gateway?
The Project Share Gateway is designed to provide faster, easier access to online resources for educators, students, parents, and community members. Search results will provide instant access to videos, interactives, links to other educational sites, online courses, and other instructional resources.
What year is the implementation of the revised TEKS (2012) for high school courses?
The mathematics TEKS adopted in 2012 are scheduled to be implemented in the 2015-2016 school year for high school courses.
