Transversal

My Definition

Key Characteristics

The following are true of the transversal:

  • The lines cut/intersected by a transversal are coplanar with the transversal.

  • The lines cut/intersected by a transversal do not need to be parallel.

  • When a transversal cuts/intersects parallel lines, the corresponding angles around each intersection are equal in measure.
