The following are true of divisible:

  • In the situation A ÷ B, A is divisible by B when the division result is a whole number quotient and the remainder is 0.

  • In the situation A ÷ B, B is a factor of A.

  • In the situation A ÷ B, A is a multiple of B.

  • A and B are whole numbers.

Example

16 ÷ 4 = 4


The number 16 is divisible by 4 because the remainder is 0.
