You can identify parent functions from their graphs, equations, or tables of data. Here, you will work with linear, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, absolute value of x, square root, and reciprocal (also called rational) functions.

You will investigate different ways that you can use parameters to transform parent functions.

In particular, you will investigate

• vertical translations,
• horizontal translations,
• vertical compressions and vertical stretches, and
• reflections.
