The precision of a measurement depends more on the quality of the tool than it does on the skill of the scientist. Everyone can read a ruler; the scientist with the best ruler will get the best measurement. In this activity, you will use two different measurement tools to measure the size of seven different items.

To make your measurements, go to the accuracy and precision site, read through the directions and measure each item with a ruler first, and then with a caliper.
