The Miller-Urey Experiment

The Miller-Urey experiment showed that simple chains of organic molecules, such as amino acids, could be created in conditions similar to early Earth. These molecules were self-replicating. They could copy and create more copies of themselves, similar to the way DNA copies and replicates itself. This was thought to be the basis for the beginning of life on our planet.
