Description

In this virtual lab you will learn how scientists use indicators to determine what biomolecules are present in substances. You will "test" various food items to determine if carbohydrates, proteins and/or lipids are present.

  2. Scroll down to the second experiment.
  3. Start on the carbohydrate tab and follow the directions on the screen.
  4. As you perform the test complete the data table found below. Only list the items that tested positive for carbohydrates in the data table.
  5. Continue the lab by clicking on the remainder of the tabs and following the on screen directions.
  6. When you visit the last tab titled "everyday food items" be sure and test at least 2 of the four food items.
