The Iron Curtain had a much deeper meaning worldwide. The "iron curtain" was a phrase coined by Churchill to describe the Communist takeover in Eastern Europe. It was a figurative line that separated Soviet-influenced eastern Europe from noncommunist western Europe. Examine the map of Europe during the Cold War Era and answer the questions that follow.
