Let's review where we are in history:

Image of the Big Three seated on a bench while several men representing militaries of different countries are standing behind the bench. Seated on the bench from left to right are: Winston Churchill, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Josef Stalin. Source: Crimean Conference--Prime Minister Winston Churchill, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Marshal Joseph Stalin at the palace in Yalta, where the Big Three met, Library of Congress.

The photo above is of the Big Three, the leaders of the Allies from World War II. This photo was taken at the meeting at Yalta (February 4-11, 1945) where these leaders were making post-war plans. Seated are Winston Churchill, leader of Great Britain; Franklin D. Roosevelt, leader of the United States; and Josef Stalin, leader of the Soviet Union. One of the biggest concerns was what to do about Germany, the major aggressor of World War II.
