Overview and Objectives
Welcome to the Financial Resources Lesson
This section of our online course will introduce you to Financial Resources Part - 1 finance function in action: the nature of operations, the role of ethics, and the use of information technology.
By the time you are finished with Financial Resources - Part 1 you should demonstrate the following objectives:
- To describe the finance function as it relates to the overall operating nature of the firm. Here we combine material from previous lessons with a typical organizational flow chart to explain how a functional breakdown of the decision-making process occurs. Emphasis in this section is on the organizational chain of command and the importance of the quick and orderly flow of information throughout the firm's various divisions as it works to achieve its operating goals.
- To describe the role of ethics on corporate behavior and how the agency relationship is supposed to align the decisions of management with those of the stockholder.
- To explain the impact that the modern information revolution has had on the conduct of business operations.
