This section of our online course will introduce you to the basic principles of confidence intervals in statistics.

 

By the time you are finished with this content lesson, you should be able to:

  1. Explain the concept of the confidence interval
  2. Construct and interpret a confidence interval estimate for a single population mean using standard normal distribution
  3. Construct and interpret a confidence interval estimate for a single population mean using the t-distribution
  4. Construct and interpret a confidence interval estimate for two independent sample means using the t-distribution
  5. Establish and interpret a confidence interval estimate for a single population proportion
